A letter from September 23rd, 2018

Dear FutureMe, Hey you, I doubt you'd remember sending this. Wow, it's been 3 years though. You're 25 and let me guess where you'd be in life. You're probably still going to be at Facebook, hopefully at least E4? Probably still in Seattle? How motivated are you by work nowadays? How energized are you by the thought of getting shit done and validation from work? Are you still ambitious or are you over it? I hope you get the meaning you need from your job though. You would have seen so much of the world by now. Do you still travel? Do you still seek adventures? Or are you ready to settle down for good? I wonder if you're single LOL. I really really hope you don't give a fuck about Kevin by this point and that he is out of your life for good. Either way, I hope you're happy. Here's where I am right now: - I just signed with Facebook. - Another 2 terms left of school, basically trying to do relatively well but if I don't, it's fine too. I just want to graduate. (Do you miss this stage in your life? Do you regret not savouring the moment?) - IDK if i'm going to die young lol. I don't know how i feel about my mom having cancer (Is she still around..? Are you basically going to have to battle cancer at 50 too..?) - I'm kind of lonely sometimes, i want someone to hold on to. I want someone to love. I really hope you're not at a place of your life where you need this reminder, but just in case: believe in yourself; believe that the bad moments will come to pass; believe that there is meaning to the pain. Have faith always. Do what you feel is right. It's ok.
