Dear FutureMe,
Well. I did what I thought was impossible, and then I kept doing it (not on my own). I've been sober four years and a few days as of...today. My today.
Hopefully you've gotten a new medallion by the time you read this.
I'm pretty wrapped up about work right now and want to do something else. Does this feel silly to you? It's serious stuff to me as I write this but I hope it's cleared up somewhat by the time you're reading this in your now.
I'm not strictly speaking proud of my sobriety but I am happy I'm sober. I hope you're sticking with it. Don't ever forget what came before.
Look back at my little problems and laugh, right? I bet you've got a few new ones of your own, knowing me.
Things to remember about today: I put on Persephone's flea collar. Gloomy May weather. The yard finally got mowed.
I hope you're happy. I hope Perse's healthy. I hope things worked out on the job thing. I hope you're happier in your now than I am in my now, even though overall things are pretty good.
Keep doing the thing.
