Dear FutureMe,
You are at a point in your life where you can move forward or be bitter. You are starting to improve your communication skills and are onto a good start.
Your romantic relationships have all be unhealthy. You need to change this with what you now know about relationships and how to be successful in one and how important it is to find the right person for you.
You learned how to build stronger relationships with the people you know of which up until now have not been very good.
You currently have isolated yourself and your just starting to come out of your bubble. Keep it up. Your going to be somebody and your going to do amazing things.
Step 1: Reflect on all you've learned this semester--look over the modules including the posts and assignments, your tsgs, and video questions to remind you of what we've covered. Select one or two things you'd like to work on or implement into your life.
Step 2: Compose a typed message to yourself (on a Word doc or Google doc or Pages or whatever), reminding you of this. Also, add in anything else you want to be reminded of 6 months from now.
Step 3: Go to this site: https://www.futureme.org/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. Paste your message in the box. Below the box select Choose specific date and identify a date in November of this year. Enter in the email address you want it sent to, then click on Send to The Future--But you aren't done. The site will send you a link to that email address and you'll need to select if from your email and complete the process. (There are ads on this site--don't click on anything that says Download Now. You do not need to download anything to do this).
Step 4: Select the link in your email and complete the process.
Step 5: Take a screen shot of the confirmation--it will look like this:Screen shot of the FutureMe confirmation
Step 6: Submit the screen shot image to Canvas AND submit the document with the message.
Step 7: Be mindful of what you have committed to work on--practice it, try to do it and to improve on it in the next 6 months. I hope when your past self message arrives, you'll smile and nod and say to yourself, I've done this or I'm better at this. If you say, Oh crap, I forgot all about this--that's ok, try it now. And if you want, go ahead and send another message to your future self--months or years down the line...
