Dear FutureMe,
I've done a few of these emails. Cant remember when I'll get them but I feel the need to write another one and it does make sense as it's the end of a decade.
2019 has been a rough but eventful year. Firstly I finished school and got 9 GCSEs! The exam part of the year was actually decent to be honest. Good crack with friends and felt good to be moving on to college and moving out of a school I never liked.
College never really started off well for me. I disliked being in everyday and with the added stress of working at Superdrug every weekend everything was a bit much but I'm sure you can remember that so I decided to drop out after 3 months. It was definitely the right decision for your mental health. It's been a month since I left and I already feel a lot better (I'm not perfect yet but time heals!)
I'm now stressed about picking a new college/course. Hopefully by the time you're getting this you'll be at peace at a new college or job or something. I always thought I wanted to do musical theatre but I'm even doubting that now. I have zero talents or interests.
hOWEVER!!! I need to remember that even if I dont have a certain path for my future, it doesnt mean I dont have a fruitful future ahead.
I guess I'm just writing this to remind you of where you were a year ago. Stressed and confused! But also healthy and happier than you were a month ago.
Just take things one thing at a time. You dont need to rush things. But also life is short so do things you want. If that makes sense.
From Lucy. Love and accept yourself x
