A letter from March 22nd, 2020

Dear FutureMe, We're finally 18 now but we can't do anything. The coronavirus (COVID-19) ruined everything. I didn't get to go out so I just drank and listen to some music at sis house. How's everything? Did the virus get any better? I really hope that it does because I want to go to university that's if I get in with the grades I've been getting. U know how our mind is. I can't help but think this virus is the beginning. First it was the floods. Then the fires (forest fires in Africa, Brazil and Australia). Some countries are having earthquakes. Now all that's left is the tornadoes. Waters, fire, earth and air. That's what we began with and that's what we're ending with. The planet is overpopulated and it is dying. We didn't have long so this virus miraculously came just in time to kill some people out. Thereby reducing the population that is causing a strain on the planet. Also, the virus has cause us to be on lockdown and quarantine. The result of that is that there's less air pollution especially in China since people have to stay inside so no driving. It is so amazing that China has a blue sky, the first time that happened in decades. The virus did start in Wuhan, China mainly from them eating bats. However, people are using this as an excuse to be racist to Asians and it's absolutely disgusting. Why would black people of all people be racist to another minority. We know how that feel so why act that way towards them. We cant blame every Asians cause it's not all of them that ate the bats. I understand people are scared, nevertheless that is still not a good reason to be racist. There's never a good reason to be racist. Anyway, I hope things have gotten better. I know it's the movies that I've watched that are getting to my head but I don't believe things will get better any time soon. It's he beginning. People are acting like pack animals and buying all of the tissues, hand sanitizer, washing up liquid and food. They're even stealing from food banks. They really have become animals yet they claimed to be civilised people. U dont see the smaller, poorer countries acting like this. It's sad to say but at least this virus is showing our true colours. The wealthy CEOs have stepped down and has gone into hiding which is good. Same thing for the politicians, this is also good cause they'll be safe. The only problem with this is that when this is all over, actually if this ever comes to an end. It won't be the doctors, nurses and shopkeepers that will be praised and congratulated. It will be these wealthy people who were invisible when everything happened. The soldiers will also be praised and even though they are being dispatched, they dont deserve the praise like the doctors, nurses and shopkeepers do. Those individuals are the true heroes. By the time u get this letter I hope that things have gotten better and you're either in university, about to start university or applying or doing an apprenticeship. One of the worst case scenarios and u know I can think of many is that everything has gotten much worse. There are new viruses, most of the doctors have died and they're asking for unqualified volunteers and worst of all, we run out of food. If this happens we're done for. It really will be the movies version of the apocalypse. We breaking into each others houses for food, having to find places to hide and fight off the infected. It will become a blood bath whilst the wealthy hide behind gates with armed soldiers or on a private island. I hope this doesn't happen. I hope you're safe and smiling. I'll hope for the best whilst u should protect yourself. Be happy, be free and smile.
