Dear FutureMe,
Holy heck.
I wrote one of these in February I think, and so much has changed already! Now I'm quarantined and social distancing for an indefinite amount of time. This is all so weird, and I'm really interested in what things are like for you right now. I hope it's pretty normal, and you're getting ready for prom and everything. I hope the world recovers from this, and maybe it's even a little better off because of it? Don't bother missing quarantine. Yes, I have a lot more free time than usual, and I'm trying to use it in good ways, but be thankful you can hang out with your friends and go to restaurants and stuff. We've been watching a TON of movies, and tonight it was Ferris Bueller. I would like you to please do something Ferris Buellerish today, even if it's small, even if you don't really feel like it. Just take a risk. And write another letter reminding yourself to take advantage of senior skip day next year! Life moves pretty fast sometimes. Just appreciate it. You have wanted to be a high school student for longer than you might remember. And maybe you'll miss it someday, so be happy where you are if you can. I'm picturing you as kind and well-spoken and funny and motivated, and as someone who sees beauty in everything (and everyone). Be that person.
I believe in you and everything you have ahead of you. Good luck! (If you're cringing at any of this, just remember it was important to you at 11:38 pm a year ago. Don't discount that!)
