Dear FutureMe,
I am writing to you in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic. The County just announced that the stay-at-home order has been extended until May 3rd. The state superintendent just announced that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. At this point no one in our house has gotten sick and everyone is in pretty good spirits.
My month off was not really what I had envisioned, but I feel like I have utilized my time well, especially in terms of the Artist's Way writing exercises. I have been writing for 30 minutes every day. I really hope that I have been able to maintain this habit as I have promised myself. I hope the novel is coming along well.
Although I agonized over it for a while, I feel that my decision to leave my old job for my new one (starting on April 6- less than a week away) was the right one. I really hope these are not famous last words!
I hope I remembering to treat myself like a precious object. I hope I have maintained my artist sanctuary. Please remember: We tend to think that being hard on ourselves will make us strong. But it is cherishing ourselves that will give us strength.
I have a right to be an artist
Creativity is a blessing I accept
I now treat myself with and my creativity more gently
I now share my creativity more openly.
I now allow myself to heal
I have an assignment for you. Get out the Artist's Way notebook ( a large spiral bound notebook with a dark blue cover) and skim through it. Refresh your memory of all of its rich learning!
Love,
Vanessa
