A letter from April 6th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, I'm so glad you took the long view, kept writing that book, kept believing in it. I'm thankful that you saved more than enough money for an emergency fund and to put down a security deposit to live on your own. That's $6,000.00 in less than a year. Yes, it required some belt tightening: less eating out, less impulse buys. You're thinking like an owner now. You're thinking like an investor. Your Dad and Mom would be proud because you showed them you could do it. Your siblings would have faith in you. You will have faith in yourself. It's no little thing paying down debt while saving $6,000.00 but you did it. And you wrote up your novel and your short stories. Your whole life you've been waiting to make them a reality and their time has come. I can't wait to see what you do with the next year. I know it will center around Jesus. He's your source and your strength. He's your best friend and your master. He's your Lord and your savior. He brings love into every part of your heart. Here's the best part: I challenge you to make new friends this year. Real friends. People who need you. People you need. Ask God to direct you and make those friendships God-centered. Don't forget your old friends. Nurture those friendships. They have strong bones and deep roots. Don't be discouraged about romance. You're an eternal being filled with light and God's love. You are enough because he is enough.
