Dear FutureMe,
This is you from a year ago. Because of a pandemic taking over the world currently you have been in quarantine for weeks, the last quarter of your junior year was cancelled, and it's been hard to adjust. Also you just recently shaved your head, maybe because its something you've always wanted to do and you're not under the pressure right now of going to school and having to worry about what peers and other people you encounter will think of you.. or maybe because isolation is getting to you. Either way I think it was a good move and I'm proud of you for doing it. With that said though because you are not able to go to school, go to the gym, and do a bunch of other things you love that make you feel like you.. you've been unmotivated lately and I feel like you're putting your life on pause right now because of everything going on. And while it may feel that way you can't let that happen. You have goals and places you want to be in the future that you won't reach if you stop working toward it any longer. You can still be just as productive at home. Learn to work out at home, pass time doing things you love and maybe have not had much time for lately, such as reading or drawing. Because all this laying in bed, sleeping, and feeling sorry for yourself because the circumstances your comfortable in have changed. Because if you take advantage of this uncomfortable time and let it change you, you will grow from it in ways you never have before.. I hope thats what you did. This is more of a reminder and like a letter of determination for me right now, but I hope while you're reading it its a letter of reflection because you took your own advice and seized the moment. Lastly, everything may feel like its going to poop right now but life goes on and you will have your life back after this is over. You will be out with your friends again, you will get to start your senior year with clarity, and you will have time to make 2020 a memorable year for better reasons than what it may be already. The thought that as your reading this you've already done all these things and had all these experiences makes me so happy. You know things will get better, and that gives me hope. I'll see you soon future Faith, I can't wait to see how you (and your hair) grow! :)
