Dear FutureMe,
There's something intrinsically weird about this whole thing, but what the heck. Presently you're stuck in the airport waiting for a flight to visit the family. You're anxious because it is the first time you've seen your parents since your sister's funeral. It is the first time you've seen Chris since before the funeral. But I digress.
It is easier to write about the hopes you have for tomorrow.
1 - I hope you've managed to get married, or at least find a guy to settle down in sin with. Not that I (you) think that marriage and a man is necessary to a happy life, but as we've long established, it would be nice for someone to clean up your vomit when you're sick.
2 - I hope you have managed to foster a kid or 2. This is very important to you right now, as part of your whole dirty hippie belief system. There are plenty of children in the US who need good homes. I hope you've managed to get to the fiscal place where this can happen.
3 - I hope you've moved up in the job world. I don't know, right now, what we want to be when we grow up, but I'm not 100% sure we're doing it. Whatever it is, I hope we earn enough money to achieve goal #2.
4 - I don't know what we hope for for the family. It would be nice if we could get along with our parents, or if even they are still alive. And it would be nice to be closer to the sister. She's a good egg.
5 - I hope V is still alive.
6 - Mostly though, I hope I'm happy. Content in whatever I do. Live my life, take a vacation or 2 a year.
Good luck!
