hello there, future var :) it's var from three months ago. and i wanted to write this so i could tell you that you made it. you did it. you freaking did it. if i didn't hit the wrong date then you should be reading this at graduation. this year probably felt like an eternity, cause i know it's felt that way so far.
i'm writing this in the very long waiting period (for context, i currently have 5 college acceptances out of the 14 that i applied to. i'm sure your final total was more than that, and even if it wasn't i'm sure you ended up committing to a great school.) i think it's kind of cool and crazy that for me, prom and grad nite and senior week are still in the future however many weeks away, but you've done all of those. all of those things happened. i hope they were really fun.
i'm mainly just writing this so that you can really know that you are capable of getting through things. senioritis was not fun at all and it is getting harder to stay motivated, but you reading this - you did it. you got through it. and now you're at the end of grade school.
i have a feeling you're not too different from how i am while i'm writing this, but if anything i hope your mental health is better. i hope that you have the best summer break that you've ever had so far, because you've earned it. spend it with your friends and family and savor it. and cherish your hometown, too. just in case it's a really long time before you come back.
basically, well done. congrats. i really mean that. there were so many times this year that you really didn't think you could do it, but you did, and you did it so well. i'm so proud of you, and here's to the future. i can't say what it'll be like, but i know it's going to mean something. and you're gonna be able to get through it all. i promise.
