Dear FutureMe, Yes, I am happy now. I hope you will remember me fondly. My 24th birthday was an interesting one. The first time I asked for presents pragmatically, making my parents happy, and buying myself something I wanted instead of depending on others for it. I am single, working at Universal Records, and recording an album for Roadrunner Records. I am excited about the things I am doing, and proud of the hard word I've done to get where I am. I do, however, want to caution you against any overly-romanticizing this time of your life. Though my responsibilities are few, and my hopes are alive and relevant, please remember that pain and loneliness still exist during youth, just as they exist in other periods of life. I hope this email finds you healthy and well. You are undoubtedly much wiser than I, so I have little to offer in terms of advice, but remember the language we speak as children is the only language worth memorizing. Do not let yourself be defined by your social environment, nor your mental ideals, but rather be transparent, because only in transparency do we reveal the truth to ourselves. Sincerely, Yourself
