Dear FutureMe,
It's me from the year 2010. Obama is still President, the economy is in a slump, and I'm still at King Ave in Portland. Portland continues to feel very cozy for me, but somewhat isolated. I really need to move into a 1 bedroom or a condo.
How has your career been going? I can't wait to finally complete my MBA program and get promoted somewhere to a job doing more sophisticated business research and competitive intelligence. Remember that INTJ personalities have huge strengths and weaknesses. Remember developing the Protector Platinum product at Standard and all the uncertainty about its success? Remember working with Robert, Steve, Dawn, Brittney and Tyler? Did you still have contact with Silvia, Irene, and Dad?
I hope at age 45 that I'm in a stable and happy relationship with someone, but be kind to yourself if you haven't found the right person yet. I've been actively dating for the past 4 months, with no real success yet. Family and relationships have never been a real priority in my life, but my priorities recently changed. The recent gray hair became very motivating for me!
Have you worked on your spirituality at all? I've been reading stuff by Krishnamurti lately. Have you developed an artistic hobby like drawing? Do you still listen to 1960's jazz music by Wayne Shorter and Miles Davis, or have your musical tastes developed into other areas? Remember that bossa nova makes you happy.
Do you travel to other places, especially outside the U.S. now? I just completed a trip to Berkeley that was very energizing.
Are you still reading e-books on an Amazon Kindle and listening to music on a Zune, or has technology changed? I'm probably using a smartphone now instead? Are PCs becoming obsolete? Are you still using Linkedin, Facebook, etc? Do you watch movies on Netflix? I've just finished watching Season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Do you still play online games like World of Warcraft once in awhile, or has some new strategy game gotten your attention?
Remember to remain confident and take care of your health, especially your teeth, any allergies you still have, and your body in general.
Take care of yourself and others. Life is very short!
Jason, Age 35, 12/31/2010, King Ave, Portland, Oregon
