Time Travelled — almost 5 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Today I wrote a 5 year plan and a vision as to what I would like my life to look like. Here is the vision I had for today 13/12/2020. How did we do? It’s early afternoon on a crisp December Sunday in the year 2020 and my family and I are going for a walk. My 5 year old son is walking with a stick he has found and is chatting away to me and my husband about the wildlife he can see. I can see my husband smiling with our beautiful dog at his side. I look fantastic, I must be around a size 8-10 I look really happy and healthy. I am pushing a pram and I am smiling. I am having such a productive day, I have been to the gym this morning and I am all caught up on the washing and the housework. When we return home I make a start on serving up a delicious roast dinner. My son is sitting at the kitchen table reading a book outloud with his father who is attempting to entertain the baby who is sitting in the highchair at the same time. The dog is shattered from his walk and is sleeping in his bed in the hallway. After dinner we play games and my son and the baby laugh lots. Its then time to start the bedtime routine and my husband gets the children ready for bed whilst I work on my blog for an hour. I kiss the children goodnight and my husband and I cuddle up on the sofa with a nice glass of wine to watch a film. The dog is laying on the floor by my feet. I am excited about work tomorrow, I am well respected at work and I am the go to person within the mortgage underwriting department. I am very knowledgeable about the underwriting process, mortgages and finance in general. I am glad I finally got the courage to apply for a part time underwriting role and move away from call centre type jobs. Taking the pay cut was worth it for the job satisfaction and the challenge of being able to move up underwriting levels. I love being in charge of my workload and I am known for being a hard worker. I have a good group of friends at work and enjoy socialising regularly with them. We have recently completed a marathon for the companies charity and raised quite a bit of money for them. I regularly take part in charitable activities run through work which benefit the local community.
