Dear FutureMe,
A few days ago I helped a woman in need. She looked like she was having trouble with her car, do I asked her if she needed help and suggested a few things to her that might help and we had a bit of a conversation about her situation.
When I get back into my car I thought that I should give her some money, so I prayed about it, and it didn't feel wrong, so I gave it to her.
I have her my tithing money, since that's what I had on me. I could have just slipped the 20 out and probably would have been fine, but I knew that I couldn't just do that. Not when she had a one year old and her car was dying. So I gave all of it to her. Note this is Red Cross tithing too, back when I was making about $1100 a pay check. I have her $121.
I went on in life feeling good, hoping I did good and forgot about it by today. That's how insignificant it was too me. But it wasn't too her. She went out of her way to write me a thank you note, go into Red Cross and deliver it to someone who might be able to get it to me.
The card was so full of thanks that it makes me so happy whenever I read it. I always want to make people happy!
So do it! I know what you're like, I know that it's hard to do service sometimes, but I know that it's also a really great feeling when you inevitably help someone who is so grateful. Keep doing good. Keep fighting. You're a great person and will do a lot of good things with the money you make.
Love,
Stephen :)
