Time Travelled — about 1 year

A letter from October 7th, 2016

Peaceful right?

Ayyy gurl The past couple of weeks I've been counting the days until I get my letter from the past (I managed to find some old confirmation e-mail which told me when I would be receiving my letter). The letter itself was sort of disappointing, but at least now I get to write something to you! As I was re-reading old futureme letters, I realized that at the time that I was writing them, I was using them as a way to vent. Now I see them as a reminder of how far I've come. You've come even farther! You're probably wondering about what life's like at the moment that I'm writing this. Let me remind you! I'm spending my days watching twin peaks, playing the violin and wasting time. I've also got lots of new music to listen to (new albums came out by radiohead, bon iver, la femme and nick cave!!!!). Despite everyone else's disapproval and my recent failed job interview, I'm not stressed out because I know there's a plan for me and I don't need to worry about things just yet. In fact, I finally feel like I don't need to justify my actions to anyone else. I'm happy. These past months I've been wishing to travel back to the past and help my old self out. You probably think of it too, from time to time. While that's impossible... I could give some advice to you instead! Now I know you're probably going through a much more stressful time than I am. By now you're wiser than I am, and you might think you don't need advice from your past self. But I think there might be a couple of points worth remembering no matter how old you are: 1. I know you don't want to hear this, but focus on what's important, goddamn it. We both know you're horrible at managing your priorities. Please try, and you'll thank yourself later. 2. No matter what, you'll be okay. I know you know this already. Stay true to that mentality. 3. Please don't be afraid of change. Your personality isn't, and it shouldn't be set in stone. However, don't forget the things that make you proud to be you. 4. Be honest with yourself. 5. Whenever you feel worthless, think of the people who have loved you and looked up to you. If that's not enough, you know how much I'd look up to you if I had the chance to meet you! Wow, this ended up so cheesy, but who cares. Have my selfie. How different are we? Lots of love from the past <3 -you
