Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Donald Trump was elected president today. It is a sad day. At some level I am so overwhelmed with the results that I have no idea how to react. All day today I was sad and scared for the country. I think everyone who voted Hillary is just in shell shock. This election showed us a very scary piece of our country. People are scared and hateful and turn to a "solution" that they don't really understand. Hopefully, we can overcome the petty differences we have in order to make change, and bring us all together. Last night was one of the saddest nights of my life. I went from optimistic and hopeful, to horribly worried and frightened. The veil is gone and Americans have to look at the true face of our country. On the other hand, many people probably voted for trump because he is conservative. This means that slightly fewer people are hateful, and more are just conservative. By the time you are reading this email you will be close to graduating college. I hope you have had a fun and educational experience. I also hope that President Trump has not ruined the country too much. My prediction is that the Republican Party will have to go through a serious re branding. Further, I hope that progressive and liberal values are fought for in protest and at the state level. I am writing this to you as a tired and defeated high school student. I have had a long day, and predict to have a few long months. I hope that you have found a light in the Trump presidency and are making change. When I woke up this morning Mom encouraged me to get an education and kick some ass. I hope you are doing exactly that. Stay positive! Remember, clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose! Yours through life, Seth P.S. A printed copy of this email is in your desk drawer at home. Hopefully it has not been moved or thrown out. See you soon!
