Dear FutureMe,
This week, you sent off your revised novel to an agent. You're feeling a mix of hope and trepidation right now -- bracing yourself for failure, while hoping for good news.
Did the novel get published?
If it did, I hope it was a great jumpstart to your writing career. I hope it is sitting in a place of pride on your shelf right now.
If it didn't, remember how far you got. Most people never write the books they say they will. They never commit to revising such a huge project. They never submit to agents. They never get a call from an agent excited about their work.
You got farther than most with your first manuscript. Keep writing until you see your book on shelves and never forget this was what you were meant to do.
Also, if you don't have a pet, kids or a husband, you should look into getting one of these. Probably the pet, since it's the only one of the three that will always listen to you.
Sincerely,
Me
