Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, School should be underway for you now. I think you should be starting your first full year as a teacher. Am I right? Anyway, I have just started my third year of college and am feeling really good about my classes. Lots is going right. I am really not sure what to write in this letter because most of what I would write is already written in my journal in much more complete form. I guess you should really just go back and read the journal to learn what is going on with me right now. It's pretty complex stuff. In the past year I have done a ton of growing. Really in the past few weeks I have done a ton of growing. I am becoming very independent and grown up. ;) I joined a community band this year and I am going to New Orleans on a discernment trip. As much as I love this new found freedom, I am also a little concerned because with this independence has come a lot of hiding and secrets. I don't know why, but I am very hesitant to reveal details to my family about what I am doing. The band I joined is a gay band, which my parents don't know and they don't know the trip I am going on is a discernment trip. I thought when I got to college I would lead a more open life, but it has been just the opposite. I have become (or more like just realized) a very private person. I don't share the details of my life with many people. Is that true with you? I am dying to know how all this stuff turns out. How do I tell everyone I joined a gay band? Do I tell everyone I am/was considering religious life? How does all this end, or does it ever end? I hope you can provide some insight into how this will all turn out. Have a great school year and don't forget to write (both in the journal and to the future!)
