Dear FutureMe,
I didn't know writing to your future self would be this comforting. It's like writing a diary; but instead of reading past experiences, struggles and happiness, I'll be able to read words of comfort— whatever the situation I'm in once I receive this letter. I'm somehow contemplating whether I should send this a year after or a month after but I somehow realized I'm gonna need this always. I thought comfort will always come from other people but I came to discern that I can also comfort myself.
And so, future me. Hold on tight. The moment you read this, it's either you're in a bad shape or you're holding up pretty well. Whatever the case will be, remember that every catastrophe and misfortune that enters your idiosyncratic life, all of these will be worth it once you get that MD at the end of your name. All of the hard work, pain, tears and emotional break down will be paid off once you start treating your patients. Future me, please be strong. Please hold on. Please get a grip. I love you. You love you. Don't beat yourself up too much. God is with you. Your family is with you as well as your friends. The ferocious you is with you. When all things break apart, you have to fix it all up with or without the help of others and try to live without regrets. You deserve the happiness you're always trying to seek. Appreciate people and appreciate people. Forgive others and forgive your mistakes. But never forget. Because everything that happened and will happen, no matter how big or small that happening is— in the end, it is part of who you are today. Good luck!
