Dear FutureMe,
Hey there... I could start off this letter with some sappy or witty introduction, but I don't think that's the way to approach this letter. So, I'll get straight to the point. You're at an all-time low in your life. In fact, you've been like this for the past few years. You dropped out of college when you were SOOOO close to graduating. You became isolated from friends and family. You've let time pass by without taking some for yourself. (When's the last time I wrote something? Sheesh...) The point is... I don't like seeing you the way you are are, what you've become. It hurts so much to see you in such a pathetic state, and while I don't show it to others, I cry inside every day, those missed opportunities to do something about it.
I think it's time you do something about it. You can't continue digging deeper into this hole you've made and hide from reality. Seek help, be open about your feelings... don't feel like you're alone because you are not. Talk to your relatives, your cousins, friends, or even random strangers. Stop internalizing all of this and letting it slowly gnaw at you. Being alone is frightening, unbearable, having no one to talk to... you've done this your entire life, and now the loneliness has grabbed hold of you and is suffocating you.
(ramble ramble...) But, it's not too late to get help. Don't let fear get to you. Remember the good times you've had helping others. Ever since you were young, you've always had a thing with wanting to help others. And every time you do so, it gives you so much joy and happiness. And now it's your turn to ask for help. Reaching out to others is not a sign of weakness. It's being human. Sometimes there are problems you yourself cannot solve, and it's okay to ask others for help. Don't be afraid.
I hope that when you receive this message, you'll become the person you are meant to be, to wake up with a smile and eagerly await what the world has to offer. Be the person that the people you've grown up with would have seen you as.
You got this.
- D
