dear mark (if you're still "mark" in 2016, you shady bastard),
firstly, i'd like to congratulate you on making it to your 35th birthday, a job well done. by now you're married with kids and animals, joy and happiness. hopefully you've completed at least 50% of our life goals we set out to do. i'll remind you of what they were 10 years ago:
1.) run marathon
2.) coach little league sport
3.) get a dog
4.) go to all religions temples
5.) learn to play violin
6.) big/little brother organization
secondly, i hope your goals are still growing. no doubt, you're a successful entrepreneur, with high aspirations to this day. 10 years ago you were starting your career in the heart of silicon valley... that was at 25. yikes!!! you had a dog, ferret and girlfriend of a year and some change. you were happier than you've ever been. you have a loving family, caring friends and doors are opening every day.
remeber when you thought you knew how to handle every situation? and even though there are snags in the way, there were always ways to get what you want and what you need. a lot of what you did was to make your life and others lives happier than when you found them? you also realized it's way harder than when you first wanted this way of living to be a part of your daily life.
at 35 it gets harder and harder every day to look to the future and remember your past. 10 years ago, you didn't think about daily life (in fact you resented it). rather you thought about what to do to make your daily life a weekly life. and how to make your weekly life your monthly life, and so forth. this way, you could see the bigger picture of your wants and needs. this way, it was easier to change people's lives.
lastly, i already know you're happier than 10 years ago, therefore no need to wax poetic. give my regards to your wife and beautiful children. i bet they'll find this pretty entertaining.
regards,
mark
p.s. go to 1409 Polk St., 94109. there you'll find a lock box. the combination is 36-24-36... but only if she's 5'3". you'll know what this means
