Dear FutureMe,
Right now we are experiencing a pandemic- the virus we call "COVID 19" has most non-essential businesses shuttered and we've all been told to stay home. In some ways, this is a blessing because I loathe my job right now and am enjoy the time to relax, do projects around the house and am getting in lots of exercise. I am a little worried about the kids and missing friends and school.
It has been interesting to say the least and then there is the issue of sobriety. It is not effortless- I need to "show up for myself" by meditating (sometimes more than once a day), take hot baths, remember it's OK to do nothing. I have to remember mantras and remember it's OK to be uncomfortable- it's not OK to drink. Drinking at this point would be like pouring gas on my anxiety. I can't imagine what a hangover would be like. I have to be calm for my family, not barfing up.
While I am writing this, explaining this, I feel pretty calm. Hopeful. I am working on getting in touch with my CORE SELF and my HIGHER self and I know something better is waiting on the other side.
SOBRIETY is of the utmost importance during the pandemic. Everything else is a close second. Stay strong, stay connected.
Love you,
ME
