Dear FutureMe,
Lately everything has been testing me about wether I should trust people anymore. Someone close to me told me that I am selfish and self centered in my relationships and that I don’t give anyone a real chance, which didn’t make me feel very good. It made me realize that at times I can push people away once I start to notice that I’m not getting the attention I’m used to or when I get scared to commit to something. You started talking to M and something about him made you realize that you can’t always run away from your problems but to face them head on. You’ve become more patient and started to open yourself up more and so far it’s been going good. You told him things that most people don’t know about you that can be a main reason why someone wants to run away from your “issues”, but M hasn’t done that at least not yet. Wether M stays in your life or not, he’s taught you that not everyone is the same and not every guy is out to get you. He taught you that it’s okay to be vulnerable and open your heart to people in order to change. The point is that he taught you a few things that you needed to learn.
Your friends always tell you how much of a “catch” you are and that you are “so deserving” of finding your person, but you also never realized that in order to do so you had to change your perspective on a few things. The world doesn’t revolve around you and you will never be someone’s only priority. You are more than deserving of finding your person when the timing is right and you eventually will.
I’m hoping this letter comes in a time that you need it the most to remind you that you are a strong individual based on your past and that you’ve come so far from it all. Don’t give up on yourself and keep fighting to do what makes you happy because at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for yourself.
